Job Description:

Maintain and execute all functions according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice. Tasks include but are not limited to all aspects of raw materials handling, transfer of finished beer, fermentation monitoring, yeast handling and pitching, clarification, transfers, finished beer monitoring, equipment CIP, and general sanitation.



Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Execute all cleaning, sanitation, and preparatory tasks for tanks to receive wort and finished beer

• Check specific gravity of fermenting beer to ensure dry hops and yeast harvests are done at the optimal time

• Ensure clarity of beer through filtration

• Stay up to date on all preventative maintenance on all equipment

• Monitor and control carbonation levels on all beers

• Ensure that all beer is produced to standards and specification by following recipes and procedures as set by 8W Brewmaster

• Follow best practice and safety requirements dutifully

• Track and record volumes of all brite beer

• Possess a well-rounded knowledge of brewing and beer styles beer knowledge



Job Requirements:

• High school diploma - Formal brewing education or college degree preferred

• Ability to work and communicate well with all staff

• Organized and detail oriented; accurate record keeping skills

• Basic troubleshooting skills in a brewing/manufacturing setting

• Valid driver’s license

• Ability to safely operate a forklift/pallet jack



Physical Requirements:

• Lift 55 lbs from ground to shoulder high

• Lift 110 lbs from ground to waist high and moving 150 lbs along the floor

• Climb stairs, ramps, and ladders

• Work in small and confined non-conditioned spaces (No A/C; No heat)

• Work safely with chemicals

• Work safely in loud environments

Our role of Gummy Production Technician might be the right fit for you! Bayou City Hemp Company is the first super critical fluid extraction processor in Texas.  As a Gummy Production Technician, you will work closely with the Gummy Production Lead to ensure gummy manufacturing is efficient, cost effective and product is within required spec. Reports to: Production Manager


Job Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

• Assist GPL in all aspects of manufacturing of gummies

• Perform duties necessary for continuous operations.

• Perform equipment maintenance and maintain an organized and clean laboratory environment.

• Follow Company standard operating procedures (SOPs) to produce high quality products.

• Understand and follow all safety protocols.

• Ability to work in a team setting to achieve daily goals, weekly forecasts and monthly KPI’s

• Strong communication skills

• Monitor system operations and perform tests as required.

• Record data for all procedures using computer systems and/or hard copy, whichever is appropriate.

• Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications and email.

• Ability to follow directions in utilization of automated equipment and systems.

• Familiarity with basic scientific principles, production terminology and basic math skills.

• Must be able to successfully pass a thorough internal and external background check.

• Forklift certification desired but not required.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in hemp/cannabis processing or chemical industry desired.

• Moderate lifting and carrying (25-75 lbs); heavier weights with assistance.

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.

• Has the ability to work in a hands-on environment, work independently in a fast-paced environment and the ability to be agile

• Punctual, reliable team player

• Willing to learn and adhere to all GMP standards

Our ideal candidate not only thrives behind the bar, but she or he also enjoys conversing with fellow beer enthusiasts. A strong understanding of beer is preferred and a willingness to learn more about it is required. Previous hospitality/brewery experience strongly preferred. This role will include beertending shifts at the taproom as well as sampling events offsite.

  • Providing a great taproom experience
  • Serving beer and smiles to guests
  • Educating guests about 8th Wonder and all of our beverages
  • Maintaining and cleaning taproom
  • Working sampling events at off-premise accounts
